SNU Bundang Hospital Research Team Receives MFDS Approval for AI Model That Analyzes ECG Images via Smartphone

Seoul National University Bundang Hospital announced on the 5th that a research team led by Kim Joong-hee(Department of Emergency Medicine) and Cho Young-jin (Division of Cardiology) has successfully developed ECG Buddy, a medical AI application that analyzes ECG images captured on smartphones to assess arrhythmias, emergency conditions, and abnormalities in cardiac function. The application has recently received approval from Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS).

In emergency departments, rapid evaluation and intervention are directly linked to patient outcomes.
